    Such a welcoming house and garden. It must just seem right to her. The first thing I thought of, along with you, was what to do to keep her warm through your long winter?  I sure hope her owner shows up and can provide an answer. After hearing the noise she is capable of making, you might want to think twice about keeping her anyway.

    We are having a harbinger of fall or winter here in Eureka today, all foggy and darkish outside. Some of the migrating sparrows have stopped in, and the CBChickadees are here, swinging on the suet and grabbing sunflower kernels from their special feeder. It must be fall.

    I am hearing a tapping on my roof, too, but it is a Stellers Jay with a peanut, not a peahen. Good luck with your very interesting problem, Polly.
