Not anywhere near as good as Chris.  Not anywhere near as bad as Nancy Johnson.  Good on some issues but bad on others.  I participated in a conference call with her and Rep Van Hollen.  Wasn't very impressed.  Chris Murphy is one of a kind.  A genuine progressive.  He seldom if ever disappointed me as my rep and so far is doing exceptional as my Senator.  I campaigned for him in 06 when he beat Johnson and am damn proud of it.  Replacing Loserman with him was a win-win for us even if I got stuck with Esty.

Look, I've enjoyed Murphy as my new Senator as much as anyone, but Esty is laboring under the shadow of a House controlled by the opposition party.  Murphy, at least, was elected in 2006 and enjoyed a House of Representatives which was controlled by the Democrats for four years.  During that time he would have been allowed to actually do something.  A freshman Representative in a House controlled by the opposing party isn't going to be allowed to do virtually anythihg of any significance.  Esty's biggest challenge is to avoid giving the Republicans ammunition to barrage her with going into her sophomore campaign, which is the most treacherous election ground in politics.
