    Economists and politicians need to stop trying to hide how bad the recessions are.

    If the economy grows a bit, but jobs disappear, that looks like a recession is still going strong. Even the recovery itself is still part of the underperformance of the economy. This is still recession-related.

    Are we out of the Great Recession? Not yet, not in any way that is meaningful to the victims.

    Americans can make our country better.
