    It was lost in the sauce of a long thread.

    Is it possible that the Administration and the Pentagon want to strike at the chemical weapons depots near the front because they're afraid that is what the al Qaeda affiliated groups are going for?

      support Senator McCain's statement that the goal is to essentially help the rebels win, you know those rebels who McCain swears are "moderates" ?

      It is indeed possible, but doing so would essentially release them into the environment with deadly consequences for a lot of people. There is also no certainty of hitting all the storage sites. The only way to be sure would be to invade with a huge ground army, period. And if that is the plan, the Administration is crazy.
