    Maybe he meant if we DO bomb Syria. That would make more sense.

      Anyone who has learned about the lead-up to WWI knows that the logic of how that war started makes Lindsay Graham's argument look rational in comparison.

      Foolishness is almost always the key ingredient in starting a war.

        Knows when people are fed up with foreign wars, they're not going back till they bomb Pearl Harbor.  So, just keep crying wolf and see how well that turns out when you've got a bigger problem than Syria.

          People can be foolish in either direction.

          WWI was a war of choice by almost all of the participants who were all itching for a war. It was terrible for almost all of them (the US suffered relatively little), yet, as you note, getting sucked into that stupid war made us foolishly unwilling to fight against a truly evil leader a couple of decades later.

          We have no idea what we will do with Syria if we manage to overthrow Assad. We've already seen that this is a really bad way to start.

          Americans can make our country better.
