    or perhaps it's my soul that's unpoetic?  

    But when I'm faced with the experience of dealing with death, it's not the poetic form that shapes my thoughts or captures the experience, most often, it's music. (Albioni's Adagio).

    or prose fragments: the passage at the end of TH White's The Once and Future King   when Arthur dies and his thoughts trod the same well-worn path they always have in confronting his life's struggles against senseless violence, and the resignation that he couldn't solve it even though he tried...

    I think that's my favorite description of the end of (a) life, which is not exactly the same thing as my favorite __ about death, I realize, so I apologize.  ;-)
