  •  Hell, even George W Bush issued checks to all (1+ / 0-)

Americans. That was a better "stimulus" (shrouded in tax refund rhetoric at the time: "It's your money!") than the stimulus we got.

Sending money directly to all Americans really really gets things moving.  Bernanke calls it "the helicopter approach."

We should have done at least some of that.  The White House economic team didn't even consider helping the poorest of the poor in that way.

That team, appointed by Obama, has been focused solely on the health of Wall Street financial firms and a handful of enormous banks. It's a massive failure of focus and of caring.

      a computer made in China.

If you want jobs in the USA have a top House Democrat and a top Senate Democrat walk down the aisles of a Wal-Mart with a union factory worker, make a list of the things that can be economically made in the USA and then pass a law requiring those things to be sourced from the USA within one year.

If you have a problem, deal with it directly ASAP.

      •  Or, realize that in exchanging free accounting (0+ / 0-)

marks for China's real labor and resource output, we're creating labor and resource savings here at home.

And those savings, being national in character, should be distributed nationally.
