  •  Shall we cheer our inability to PROMOTE (16+ / 0-)

economic improvement? There's not even been any campaign effort focused on "vote Dem and we'll create jobs" has there?

Fuck, the voters have been polling at 70%, 80% wanting a massive jobs program for YEARS now. YEARS. This includes majorities of Republican voters!

You'll have to explain why the Dems haven't made the sure thing to elect more Democrats, to push past the Repub minority's obstruction, their standard-bearing issue.

Instead we're getting more fucking secret trade agreements being pushed down our throats. When we KNOW what NAFTA did to us.

Tell me how that's going to help us win elections.

Actual Democrats: the surest, quickest, route to More Democrats. And actually addressing our various emergencies.

    •  It's not. It's solidifying the corporate center (4+ / 0-)

and pushing the polls away from 'respectability'.

You know this, Jim, but I'll say it anyway -

      Corporate doesn't share well...

If you want something that costs money, you have to go through corporate - navigate their slanted rules that angle the change to their side of the table and you have to pay their fees to cover their costs, pay their price, etc...

The walls separating public and private fell down. Politics is BIG Business. Politics has become a cost of doing business - if you want any kind of control over your business' destiny.

They buy access and time and get friendly legislation.

Because corporate doesn't share well, the interests or needs of the people should not get in the way of the needs or interests of business. They have priced the people out of the business of self governance.

This means that ideas that don't support corporate need to go away. Anything that is not germane to corporate will be pushed to the edges or will be leveraged for political capital to create more corporate profits.

I think Obama and the DLC have decided that they should work through corporate to promote the public good - that's the most charitable I can be - and the moderate Republicans believe the same thing - Business is Boss. This will be our ruling coalition.

This is the rise of the Corporate Center.

Democracy - 1 person 1 vote. Free Markets - More dollars more power.
