the OT, I guarantee you that the instruction flowing from many Christian pulpits this Sunday will be based on the OT, and in a significant number of cases, will be based only on the OT

    •  The majority of Christians will hear a reading (0+ / 0-)

from the OT, chant or read a Psalm, hear a reading from the New Testament that is not one of the four Gospels, and a reading from one of the four Gospels. The majority of the world's Christians follow something called a "lectionary" or "pericope", which assures readings--in an organized way--from many different books of the the Christian Bible.

For most of the world's Christians, what is read in church is not subject to the whim of the preacher. It just seems so, because in this country, the media only seems to give those kinds of preachers a public pulpit.

I resent that. I demand snark, and overly so -- Markos Moulitsas.

father in law as ministers, it seems to me, despite being from different denominations, they enjoy a good bit of autonomy in their message
