    for me too. But it was not my main concern, because I think the preponderance of evidence points to him. I'm thinking here of the magnitude of the attack, its distribution on the ground, and the unlikelihood that the rebels had the resources to carry it out, plus the famous intercepted conversation.

    On the other hand, I'm worried about rumors that the sarin used was not military-grade, that the rebels were in fact responsible for much smaller chemical weapons attacks in the past, and about the general ruthlessness of the rebels.

    So definitely, there is some question about who did it. But as I said, I think the bulk of the evidence, and the more specific and credible evidence or inferences, supports Assad as the one.
