  •  I can't believe we're doing this again. (13+ / 0-)

Millions of Americans + Congress was very confident WMDs were in Iraq.

That really is a poor assumpotion.  Obama is not George Bush, we are not invading Syria and there are dead children from Sarin.

I really tire of ignorant assertions like yours.  As I have said, there is a reasoned opposition to military action even though Aassad used Sarin gas.

      I tire of pretend land.

like yours (which are absurd) on dkos makes me more likely to support the President's proposal.  If you have to rely on everything is Iraq and assad is inncoent, then the merits of your argument agaisnt military action are very, very weak.  Bullshit does not fly.

Others in opposition, however, are more reality based.   MB, for one, has written excellent arguments opposing military force.

      •  Who is saying Assad is innocent? (3+ / 0-)

I am not unwilling to believe that rebels would gas their own people.

I have read MB's posts and his direction to the William Polk essay in The Atlantic is one of the main reasons that I'm not willing to jump on this bandwagon of blaming Assad for gassing his people.

And you can say not everything is Iraq, just like we were told that everything isn't Vietnam. But in the end war is always like both of those tragedies. Endless, expensive and senseless.

What are the benefits to attacking Syria?

is this: I have two teenaged sons. I am not willing to send them off to fight in Syria. Because I am not willing to send my sons, I should not be advocating to send someone else's sons.
