  •  Well, I'd been thinking of something of the sort (16+ / 0-)

for a bit, just chronicling what we eat over the course of a month, partly for the recipes and partly for the two notions that it's entirely impossible to eat on food stamps or that people are eating ten course meals on food stamps.

But I'm fortunate that I have a full kitchen and my various appliances and a truck to get me to the store, and my share in my parents' garden and fruit trees, and enough health and knowledge to cook for us all. I'm well aware not everyone has this.

When you come to find how essential the comfort of a well-kept home is to the bodily strength and good conditions, to a sound mind and spirit, and useful days, you will reverence the good housekeeper as I do above artist or poet, beauty or genius.

I live by the matra: "To have and enjoy more of anything, begin by appreciating what you already have".

Looking forward to the rest of the series, Alexandra. Thanks for taking the time and making the effort. Very cool.
