    Do they return to normal when defrosted, or are they only good for smoothies? I make oatmeal with bananas and have trouble keeping them edible until I finish the bunch. The refrigerator seems to help, but isn't ideal.

      them this way. I just mentioned it because you can get ripe bananas on sale sometimes.

      Freezing doesn't seem to affect the bananas at all, so I don't see why you couldn't slice them for your oatmeal before freezing them on a cookie sheet then popping them into a freezer container.

      Actually, that sounds like a terrific idea!
