    You could make a credible case for a real international effort in Syria to stop the bloodshed and restore order.  It would be bloody, long, and would never happen because there is no support for it.  But it would be solidly grounded in humanitarian need and have a real purpose.  Syrian civilians are suffering terribly.  

    My problem with whatever it is that Kerry/Obama proposes is that I see neither a plan nor an objective.  You drop a lot of bombs on something and then go home.  

    And then?  How is security/peace/rescue advanced?  Is a "lesson learned"?  By whom?
