what is looking good for "us"?

You are missing a line from your poll, also.  The bubble I would check would be one that says "Support my President and the Geneva Conventions."

    •  "We" are anti-war Democrats (4+ / 0-)

You want to support the President, knock yourself out. Call your Reps, whatever. We will continue to oppose.

      On your side:  AIPAC
On my side: the American people.

The party of Kennedy is also the party of Eastland. The party of Javits is also the party of Goldwater. Where is our party? Where is the political party that will make it unnecessary to march on Washington?

    •  If you're going to support the Geneva Conventions (3+ / 0-)

how can you support attacking another country without UN Security Council approval?

    •  The Geneva Conventions (0+ / 0-)

They forbid using poison gas against another sovereign nation, not against one's own people.  Nobody says Assad used poison gas against another country.  So there goes the "Geneva Conventions" argument.

And forgive me for objecting to sanctimonious bullshit.  Calley, Medina and Koster murdered almost as many Vietnamese in cold blood as Assad is accused of killing with gas.  Calley, Medina, Koster and their crew killed so many they had to take a lunch break and then continue killing. Only Calley was put on trial. He did a few month of house arrest and was then let free.

If the United States cared about international norms, it would join the International Criminal Court.  It won't.

International law -- like democracy -- is something the United States seeks to inflict on its enemies and to protect its friends from.

It's all about power and empire and what facilitates Israeli colonialism, not about democracy or international law.

This aggression will not stand, man.
