    The $20 is for a fresh Hutterite chicken, sold by the Hutterite farm. Now $30 to buy a similar one retail.

    Even at Costco here, a 3-pack of smallish fresh chickens will cost around $33, that's about $11 per chicken. And they are small and not much flavour.

    Today at Safeway, small fresh fryers are about $10; somewhat larger roasters are about $15.

    Marry the one you love, not the one a bigot says you're allowed to love.
