  •  Ah, rationing. (3+ / 0-)

The US has been rationing healthcare forever by how much money someone can afford to pay.

The other problem is that the companies who deal in medicine also spend more on advertising and administration than actual care.

The pharmaceutical companies are the absolute worst in this regard. They aren't interested in curing anything, especially cancer. They're only interested in 'managing' it so they can continue to make money off of the suffering of others.

I write a series called 'My Life as an Aspie', documenting my experiences before and after my A.S. diagnosis as a way to help fellow Aspies and parents of Aspies and spread awareness. If I help just one person by doing this, then I've served a purpose.

What would happen to the executives of a pharmaceutical company that aren't interesting in making money?

Institutional investors would replace these executives immediately.

And the SEC would sue them for not protecting shareholder interests.
