  •  I'm sorry I missed your (5+ / 0-)

bookstore diary, 3CM. Bummer. Not sure I would have left a comment (beyond saying hi, anyway) but you would have got a tip & rec from me at least.

FWIW, effort & attention to diary are not linked, at least in my experience. Partly it's timing, partly it's luck, and partly it's having a topic people want to read about right after it hits the recent list. Or so it seems to me.

......give it a rec, I think :) .  The 24-hour limit on recommendation time for diaries seems to have gone by the wayside on DK, though it still remains regarding actual comments, though.  But I agree that it is a mix of the various factors that you mention.  I just drew the short straw, or maybe I should have just posted it whenever that day.

      •  Oh, that's a feature of dK 4: (4+ / 0-)

You can rec a diary forever. You can rec a comment within a diary for 24 hours. The tip jar goes longer but I don't remember how long it stays viably tip-able. 48 hours, maybe? Don't recall.

I've rec'd cfk's BF diaries and tip jars when I've been quite late, well past the 24 hour mark, on several occasions.
