  •  Beautifully written piece (9+ / 0-)

Do you have a history blog? I would truly love to follow it. Are you considering a way to publish your work in a more permanent form?

You've done a masterful job of illustrating what can be a fairly confusing and distant world when just encountered in the written text of a history book. The photos that you've posted makes me want to see the illustrated version of Heaney's Beowulf.

They say "cut back" - we say "fight back"!

    •  The book is called (9+ / 0-)

Essays on the Ancient World which includes many of the essays which I have posted here along with introductory chapters and materials dealing with archaeology. I originally put it together to be used in my Introduction to Archaeology class.

I use another version of the book, Essays on Ancient America, which focuses on just the American essays, as a text in my Introduction to Native American Studies class.

At some point, when I get some free time, I will explore the possibility of making these available in an ebook format.
