    So no surprise there.

The constitution-destroying stuff - not so much...

is shocking. He was very clear in the 2008 campaign that he would pursue an aggressive foreign policy, including actions in other countries without the approval of those governments. Yes, including drones. McCain was in that respect more dovish.

But had McCain been elected we might well have invaded a half dozen countries with ground troops by now! That would be FAR worse.

The alternative would be a Paulish stick-your-head-in-the-sand foreign policy that pretends that we can ignore our overseas interests.

Drones and spying are the best of a poor set of options.

      •  Ah yes. Hypocrisy. And not just hypocrisy, but (17+ / 0-)

Shocking Hypocrisy.  There MUST be a moral failing in those who hoped for something better from Obama than what he's given us.  And of course those that oppose drones must be especially hypocritical.

Where the hell do you get such stupid phrases?

      •  what, exactly, are our overseas interests? (10+ / 0-)

List the ones that are more important than the domestic issues of:
-jobs and an economic base for the future
        -education
        -infrastructure
-climate chaos (global, but we've got to start somewhere)
        -healthcare
        -income and wealth distribution

We kidnap. We torture. It's our policy. Embrace it or end it!

describe a legitimate and possibly better foreign policy that does not involve the initiating and waging of constant war by the United States vitiates your argument...in fact, it is downright trollish.

      •  The chem weapon attacks may or may not be (4+ / 0-)

attributable to Assad.  Evidence on past chem attacks that the MSM attributed to Assad were found to be implicating the "rebels."

On the contrary the American people and the UK people have pulled their heads out of the sand and the wool off their eyes and can plainly see what has been going on and is going on: a duplicitous dance to drag us into war after war in the Middle East based on duping the public one too many times.

The credibility of the MSM and the war machine is shot.  Too many lies have been told and continue to be told about "red lines," NSA spying, drone strikes that only strike Al Qaeda, and the latest outrage: the "rebels" the US support have been committing atrocities in Syria with impunity and many are linked to Al Qaeda.

The jig is  up.  The truth has hit the fan.

The only winners of these wars, the architects of these wars, have laughed their way to the bank at our expense.

The people who have profited by lying us into these wars have blood on their hands and egg on their face, and no amount of lobbying and spending their ill-gotten gains will buy back their credibility or integrity.

      •  We're the only ones with an overseas interest? (7+ / 0-)

We're keeping arms manufacturers, oil companies, and defense contractors afloat.   There interests have become our national interests.   My biggest objection to eteranal war is the cost in treasure and lives; and I'm sick of footing the bill.   When Obama comes back with his BS on shared sacrifice, we need to cut food stamps, social security and other entitlements, he can put it exactly where I told bush to put it.

I have three politically incorrect, straight, white male, grandchildren; and I don't care if you think they're important or not.
