  •  Yes, there is a prospect but the clear implication (0+ / 0-)

in the Guardian's headline and story is that Kerry said face attack.

    Here is the Guardian's headline:

John Kerry gives Syria week to hand over chemical weapons or face attack

    Here is Reuters:

Kerry: Syrian surrender of chemical arms could stop U.S. attack
Which one is more accurate as  to what was said?

    •  Probably Reuters; (0+ / 0-)

Syria could surrender its CWs and we might still attack them anyway.

"Could stop," after all, not "will stop."

    •  Right because (0+ / 0-)

it's the one week timeframe that's the meat of the quote to me.

    •  That's a fair point (1+ / 0-)

Although Kerry is implicitly saying "or face attack" (not implicitly saying "or will be attacked," as the other comments note), I'll concede the headline does make him seem a little more bellicose (as funny as that possibility may be at this point).

Before we point fingers at President Obama, we ought to point them at ourselves.
