  •  No, it just means you're making qualitative (0+ / 0-)

    judgements, not stating facts.

While you dream of Utopia, we're here on Earth, getting things done.

    •  I make judgements based on the facts - (0+ / 0-)

feel free to cite how Wall Street bankers have helped the working class.

Explain how Free Trade doesn't harm working class Americans by making it easier for companies to off-shore their jobs to cheaper labor overseas.

And yes - I understand the counter-argument that "Free Trade creates jobs for export!", which is true - but sadly, it doesn't create enough jobs to make up for the ones lost.  Not by a long shot.  Trade Deficit, anyone?

It is a testament to the success of identity politics that policies, such as Free Trade and giving top spots to Wall Street insiders / bankers, are actually defended by a good number of folks.

Can you cite any facts which demonstrate Free Trade has been good for American workers?  Or does the math of our Trade Deficit speak for itself?

Can you cite any facts that demonstrate the benevolence of Obama's selection of bankers as Chief of Staff / Treasury Secretary for the working class?

What about Obama's appointment of Monsanto Executive Michael Taylor to the FDA?  You realize Bill Clinton appointed the same guy to the FDA, right?  And then Taylor returned to Monsanto?  And now he's back at the FDA?  Whose interests do you think he is advancing?

Speaking of former Bankster Chiefs of Staff, how are things working out for teachers & their union in Chicago?  What's Rahms stance on public education?  Charter Schools, you say?

Well there's a real shocker right there.

Please feel free to provide some facts that demonstrate how bankers and Free Trade have helped American workers.

I've made my position clear, however, your only response is to disagree while I've offered specific examples of the policies and how they hurt the working class.

The excuses for Obama's behavior have long since passed the point of predictability neccessary to qualify as an absurd production of Kabuki Theater.

    •  Qualitative vs. Quantitative (0+ / 0-)

Just for the record.. the Trade Deficit is a Quantitative fact.

One could logically be expected to draw a qualitative judgement regarding what this means in terms of job availability.

Or one could read any number of stories about the sweat shops overseas in textiles.

Outsourcing to cheaper labor and the linkage to "Free Trade" is really not a difficult concept to grasp.

One final observation: If the Heritage Foundation claps for joy over Free Trade.. it's probably a safe bet it benefits the 1% over the working class.

Granted, I'm making that judgement based on nothing more than the history of who the Heritage Foundation is allied with & the policies they advance and I could be completely wrong.  But I doubt it.
