  •  Well the RKBA position (2+ / 0-)

is difficult to incorporate in a discussion, given that they object to every proposal, however mild in design.

I'm not sure what there is to discuss under those circumstances.

Unlike the RKBA, most liberals, indeed most Americans support increased regulation of firearms.

I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
but I fear we will remain Democrats.

proposed alongside a gun ban as the President did.

Particularly when said gun ban is introduced to the Senate by a Senator that has outright stated her support to confiscate each and every firearm in the USA.

"most Americans support increased regulation of firearms."
Actually it is virtually 50%-50% & support for gun control has dropped consistently & significantly for the past twenty years
Hence the ass-whipping (despite a 6-1 spending advantage) in a district that voted for Obama by 19 points and had a significant advantage in registered Dems.....and Dems voting for the recall.

Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.

        What was the turnout?

Gun Controllers are failing so hard that they are managing to lose Democratic incumbents in Democratic districts by losing elections in non-election years.
This is the most surprising & humiliating electoral loss in history. And it happened twice.
It happened because of policies you support.

So I can see why you are so defensive.

We are all well aware of how electoral math works, but if you think you got yourself a victory, knock yerself out.

You mean even with a 6-1 spending advantage....
Even with half-again more registered Dems than GOPers showing up at the polls.....
Giron & Morse still couldn't get enough people to give a fuck about them being recalled? Even after Giron & Morse were so kind as to take liberties away from their constituents?
              Shocking. Truly, shocking.

And, speaking of math: Exactly how much of a fucking turnout would it take for Giron to have overcome a twelve point ass-kicking?
I'm not even going to bother calling your comment dishonest.
You just don't know any better....even after reality slaps you upside your head & slaps two Democrats out of office in the most humiliating of manners.

Morse and Giron's colleagues who voted for the same laws and were not targeted for recall.

We are supposed to forget that the NRA targeted for Senators for recall and only succeeded to recall 2. At BEST that's a coin toss. No better.

                petition.

And no reasonable person would call not one, but two successful recalls a 'coin-flip'. Particularly in a state that had never seen so much as a single successful recall petition in its 137 year history.

Where are the recalls of people who opposed the gun control measures if this is such a 'coin-flip'?

It is pure absurdity to try and spin such humiliating & unprecedented defeats as a tie.

"Gun Controllers" - what exactly do you include in this label?
