    a possible out of control conflagration in the ME I will be happy since I have family in the region (and the Navy). I do have a bit of a question though about what was negotiated for Assad to give up his cw. Are we saying that Assad was willing to give up his cw in the face of a very limited attack on cw sites or even his military capacity? How was Putin swayed to pressure Assad? There is a lot that we don't know, including which rebel groups we are arming and financing, how many CIA are on the ground there. There are a lot of lessons to be learned from Syria since it will be one of many "hot spots" in the future due to mass migration, food and water scarcity. And of course, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia...

      But that really underscores my point -- why must credit be denied the POTUS so insistently based on so little information?
