    I think it possible that a lot of this is kabuki, as I've said elsewhere.

    The best argument that it wasn't kabuki and is a blunder is what happened in Britain--I certainly don't believe Obama manipulated the Parliamentary vote so Cameron would lose. That just seems silly.

    But despite that, I think it's still possible all this was intentional.

    Doesn't mean I agree with it, though.

    Having grown up during the Cold War, I don't appreciate kabuki involving highly volatile client states and superpowers engaging in a staredown via destroyers facing off with one another. It gives me hives. Bad hives.

    The party of Kennedy is also the party of Eastland. The party of Javits is also the party of Goldwater. Where is our party? Where is the political party that will make it unnecessary to march on Washington?
