  •  Ad hominem by definition (6+ / 0-)

I have no idea of "coffetalk"'s posting history

but that doesn't negate the points made

    Is coffeetalk a douche? ... maybe, I don't know

but dismissing the comment because of who made it is by definition ad hominem

Then you really are in no position to judge my comment, are you?

      •  I didn't "judge" Your comment (0+ / 0-)

I simply identified it as ad hominem - which it is.

Stating that a particular user has a particular point of view is not ad hominem.  Ad hominem argument would be something like, "This point of view is incorrect because coffeetalk holds it."

My comment doesn't say that.  It says:

A young woman is subjected to a horribly racist insult by a customer, the company suspends her, and coffeetalk jumps in to defend the company.

Again, it's all the victim's fault.

Coffeetalk has indeed jumped in to defend the company and has indeed blamed the waitress for what happened.  These positions are entirely consistent with this user's posting history, a history of which you are admittedly ignorant.

If you're going to call something ad hominem, at least look up the definition.  Coffeetalk's consistently expressed views on racial issues do her no credit, as many have said before.  Pointing out that fact is not argument ad hominem.
