The sentiment that resounded a church meeting I attended last night, I wont mention that actual intent of the meeting however, it was not to discuss the legitimacy of the impending apocalypse. Obama is the antichrist and all we need now are some good republicans in office. As you stated above the U.S. is waiting, letting all the moves play out BEFORE going to war. I believe it was a republican who lied and manipulated the American people into starting the last war, no hesitation, guns a-blazin'.
Interesting how quickly the people of America forget, or perhaps it is selective forgetfulness.

I think I would have yelled BULLSHIT! and then acted like I was looking around to see who did it.

Get the whole flock wondering who the mole is. It could be fun.

...the anti-Christ (I remember when Bill Clinton was first nominated, a bunch of churches said he's the anti-Christ).  Best not to waste one's body and soul at those churches.

my wife and I were looking for a church that'd fit us and went to the big tent mega-conservachurch one Sunday.

One of the handful of pastors (tag teams) gave a sermon about how Moses opened the Egyptian storehouses to the starving and sold them grain. He didn't give it away. They had to pay something for it.
And, somehow, that is why we all needed to vote for Reagan.

I took Paul's advice to the evangelizing disciples, should a town turn them away. I rose from my seat and, accompanied by my wife, walked to the door mid-sermon and very pointedly wiped my feet at the door so that I did not carry any of the church's dirt into the outside world.

It took courage to walk out mid-way through the service; I suspect that at least one or two of the congregants mused about what caused you to leave and learned a lesson!
