  •  actually us poor folks vote Dem more reliably than (4+ / 0-)

    any other income group.

That top 2% and 3% however join their 1% brethren in reliable numbers contributing not only their votes but tiny percentages of income in what are multi thousand dollar campaign contributions, inspiring many middle and especially upper middle white folks to vote R.

To tell, since pretty much everyone is R.

because there's no way that can be generally true. Without 'reagan democrats' the last 30 years would be vastly different

      •  I saw a breakdown of voting in the 08 elections (1+ / 0-)

according to exit polls. You could adjust for any variable you wanted but then the sample size became smaller and smaller.

I wanted to show poor rural white males voting in over 50% Obama, but it wouldn't go there. What I did find was majority white in the under 30K bracket. The highest percentage of any bracket for whites. When I went to the same web site for 12 they hadn't updated.

Reagan Dems aren't poor, they are upper middle though working class by culture, not income.

People vote their self  interest a lot more than people think. If you are poor, Obama and the Dems have improved your lot in life. If you gross seven figures Obama care is a bad deal.

        •  well let's not get carried away too much (0+ / 0-)

I know a number of people that make 6 if not 7 figures and they like Obama care.

But I see you your point
