    Caribbean history, or pay attention to the Caribbean is like pulling teeth.

      Sad, too, because it's actually fascinating history. And it's our history: so many Americans (including plenty of present company!) have roots in the Caribbean, from all different origins and mixtures thereof. Well, especially the mixtures thereof, which is one of the things that makes the history so fascinating.

      There was a brief while that the Territorial Archives of the U.S. Virgin Islands were managed by a visiting archivist from the National Archives, during which my dad visited there and did some research as he had a long-standing relationship with the NA. It wasn't just the archive that he found enthralling.

      That archive is apparently still being maintained and cataloged by a public library there.
