  •  And why are we pussyfooting around the fact that (5+ / 0-)

the CIA et al(unaccountable Rambo types), who has been "training" and supplying "non-lethal" support to random arab twentysomethings for years now, has no business claiming it's not involved in weapons aid. The State Dept and its infernal "we might arm the rebels...someday" is domestic-aimed  propaganda, period.

I mean you wouldn't expect the perfumed princes of the middle east to muss their manicures, that's what US taxpayer money is for. The rebels line up, get their weapons "not from us", but come to us in the next booth over for training and eventual tactical support. PUHLEEZE.

I'm thinking this is why we ramped up weapons sales to KSA a few years ago - back then I thought it might be for future internal repression/Yemen shenanigans, but now we know where our largesse has ended up. BY DESIGN.

    •  Yeah, actually, Prince Bandar is pretty wealthy (5+ / 0-)

maybe he should just hire a mercenary army and leave us the hell out of it.

Ditto the Likud folks. Ditto the oil barons who are worried about their pipeline routes X100.

The party of Kennedy is also the party of Eastland. The party of Javits is also the party of Goldwater. Where is our party? Where is the political party that will make it unnecessary to march on Washington?

How does one go about planning a global Hit? Ideally your ally w also be your business partner. Everyone should make a buck, right? And him getting a discount for warm bodies provided is what's called "doing business". The expenditure of US taxpayer $$ is mostly funnelled back to US based contractors(weapons, training), so it's a mutual profit scheme, at heart. For the real one percent.

I'd assume Bandar and the solid gold bidet mafia are more than willing to profit from the US's greed for hegemony. The autocratic gulf states are all functional US military outposts anyway, and they'll get a cut of that eventual "sovereignty", whatever form it takes.

own 1%, I can think of simpler ways to go about that.

Without leaving the country or dropping a bomb on anybody.

Sorry, I know you don't deserve to get my anger full in the face. It's not personal.

500 million dollars to one of their favorite donors--for no apparent reason at all--in the context of the fiscal cliff bill, for God's sakes. It's not like Congress needs justification for throwing money to rich people.
