      using  the RT to suddenly support Putin I don't think 'love fest' is a smear. It is as however as the commenter admits over the top.

        "I'll remain among the Minority of Kossacks who will not participate in this love fest" is not merely a smear. It is a McCarthyist smear that claims the majority at Daily Kos backs Putin and Assad. And "over the top" is far too mild a description.

          wrong to say that  but doesn't raise to the level of a smear.

          There is a rather sudden and interesting outpouring of good will and even trust to a former KGB spy that should be the last one talking about democracy and trust. Is that position a minority or majority? Honestly don't know but it's certainly a loud one.

          Thus while I agree that 'love smear' is an overreach but it's not a smear.

            There's a difference between "It's right because Putin says it" and "It's right, and it happens to be Putin who's saying it" and even "It's right, and how humiliating to have to hear it from the likes of Putin."
