Why any self-respecting gay person would want and try to be a "Christian" is beyond me.  Live the so-called "Christian" life, but send packing the organized sect which rejects you.  They loathe you and are incapable of being what they claim to be.  Have the courage to be yourself, and the confidence to reject their phony dogma and hypocritical values.
If you have to belong to some organization in order to be happy, find one which practices genuine morality, not the spurious morality of most "Christian" churches.
Above all, don't allow ancient myths to inform your life.  Remember that all of the sacred books of today's religions were written by ignorant, superstitious people trying to make sense of a complex universe with Bronze-Age understanding.  We are in a far better position to understand the universe today than they were, so we don't need their groping, naive thoughts.  Declare your independence, and accept freedom.  You'll be far happier and in a better position to help others accept themselves.

Bishop V. Gene Robinson's writings on why many LGBT people are practicing Christians. He explains it better than I do, but I tend to agree with him. The church he and I belong to does not reject LGBT persons, prevent them from being in leadership, or prevent them from being married in the Episcopal Church.

There are a number of mainstream Christian denominations that have been welcoming and inclusive of LGBT persons for years.

No matter how much some Roman Catholic bishops and some evangelical Christians try to convince others that it is, Christianity is not principally about matters of human sexuality. Sadly, you seem to buy their brand. I prefer to buy Gene Robinson's.

I resent that. I demand snark, and overly so -- Markos Moulitsas.

You'd think that'd fall under "common sense."

Then you see something like this bullshit:

      This is madness.
