But this is the best example of Christian charity - These people oppose the very things that would help them, but we help them still.

Must drive the insightful among them bat-shit crazy. :)

would be to say that those people oppose the very things that would help other people, for example the people in New York and New Jersey, but expect help themselves.  And we give it to them.

As my father used to say,"We have the best government money can buy."

They oppose helping other people.  Rick Perry complains loudly when he or his friends do not get government handouts, only when people he does not like get handouts.  Look at his reaction when he did not get the federal money to pay for the wildfires fighting his policies created.

Unlike Texas, however, which contributes funds to the federal budget many of these are simply takers.  Each person in Iowa receives nearly $1000 in welfare, on average.  Each person in South and North Dakota receives between $4,000 and $5,000 in welfare from the feds.

No, these people have no problem taking.  What they have a problem with is realizing how much they take, and being grateful to states like NY, TX, AR, and Ca for being generous enough to allow them to exist.

      It's Gawd's will.

Of course that also means that their sins are what is causing these natural disasters.

None are so hopelessly enslaved, as those who falsely believe they are free. The truth has been kept from the depth of their minds by masters who rule them with lies. -Johann von Goethe
