The Price theory guy taught the way I teach. Admittedly, I tell them how long their term papers should be, and how they should be formatted, but aside from that, it's the same.

I went to college in upstate New York, at a university with seven undergraduate colleges, and the process I watched during my freshman year was one where people who entered the College of Engineering decided they really wanted to be in the College of Art and Sciences. I'm not sure when the undergraduate business major became an accepted way of life, but I think it's something that in an ideal world should be done away with. I learned THAT doing entry-level hiring in advertising -- you didn't have to unteach the history or English or economics majors anything but if they majored in advertising, you really had to start them from scratch again.

    •  I hear you about that. (7+ / 0-)

I attended college just prior to our Business College having us do our work via computers, so in most of my accounting classes we used ledger books. It is awful that I have little knowledge of how to use Quickbooks efficiently. In fact, I am having a friend of my sister teach me because right now I am entering everything into the general journal since that is all I know. The same was true with my tax class. Everything was done by hand.

I must end each day with a dose of Top Comments. A TC diary is a must for developing the calmness I need to get the required eight hours of sleep. - cohenzee
