Since it's based on false premises and relies on anecdotal evidence that isn't well thought out.
On the other hand, if we want strict gun control laws STAT, we need to encourage the African American community to buy lots of guns and parade around with them in public like the gunloonTeaBaggers do. Same game in the LGBT community. A fully armed Gay Pride march would yield tight gun control overnight.

If I ran this circus, things would be DIFFERENT!

I agree that the racism and hate in this country would demand more gun control if lots of minorities started behaving like older white conservatives and made a point of publicly showing off their guns.

But I cannot agree with your suggestion.

The fact is that guns are dangerous to their owners and everyone around them.  More gun sales have been shown to be positively correlated with more gun injuries.  People who reside in a home where there is a gun have a higher risk of dying by suicide and homicide.

I cannot recommend that minorities and gay people buy more guns: while it might inspire white racists to demand gun control laws, it would also mean more minority and gay people getting shot.

I have said for years that I would love to have a busload of heavily armed (legally) young Hispanic males pull up to Scottsdale Fashion Place (or similar very high end shopping mall in various locations) on black Friday.

give all of them a hundred dollar gift card for their participation.

I can only imagine how quickly the business community would be howling for change.
