    How will deductibles work?

This will depend on the private insurance carrier you choose and the level you choose for out of pocket--Bronze is 60-40%; platinum is 90-10%.  Premiums and details will be available October 1.  There is a 9.5% of annual net income limit on annual costs.

For those on the federal exchange, there will be 11 private insurance companies from which to choose.

Set up the account, that is.

My confusion is with the way Obamacare handles deductibles.

Say you have an 80-20 plan. Does that mean that I have to pay 20% of every doctor visit, every med, every test, etc., until I hit the deductible OR, as I have seen mentioned, are all of those things, the things a person might need in an average non-hospitalization year, covered and the deductible only applies to major medical/hospital expenses?

OR are some completely covered but the deductible applies to some office visits, etc.? Example: The preventive care mammogram -- no deductible. But the follow-up tests, if needed -- 20% deductible?

Or is there no rule about this in Obamacare and each insurance company will decide which things have a deductible charge and which are completely covered?

Under the hypothetical 80-20 plan above, in the first case, I have crap insurance. In the second case, I have good insurance.
