  •  I don't deny it's a mass shooting, but it looks (0+ / 0-)

like more than this to me. All I am saying is that the media avoids to use the word "terror attack". That's all.

      terror-related.

Officials said they still do not know a motive for the shooting but that they do “not have any evidence to think” that it was related to terrorism.
Could just be a disgruntled worker.
The shooter, who was killed by police during a gun battle some two hours after the initial shootings, was a government civilian contractor new to the D.C. area, said a law enforcement official speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss the investigation.

      •  yes, I read that, and it is to be expected (8+ / 0-)

that they express themselves like that.

I doubt if the shooters would have been identified as some
non-white middle-eastern-style of person with beard or other signature traits, they would be that careful in their wording.

Sorry, I am just tired. In any case the US has its crazy shooters, the rest of the world has terrorists.

I have no real point to make here. I had a communte of two and a half hours this morning because of it. So allow me to whine and be frustrated just so ...

        •  No need to be sorry. (4+ / 0-)

I just didn't want anyone to worry that this was a terrorist attack when it doesn't appear to be one.

On a side note, I have to disagree with the President.

President Obama, speaking at the White House, praised the victims as “patriots” who “know the dangers of serving abroad” but faced “unimaginable violence they wouldn’t have expected at home.”
Sadly, mass shootings are just the sort of thing one can "expect" at home, these days. We seem to have one every few months!

crazy mad man shooting around, one would wonder, why they would lockdown the whole Senate Building:
            From Reuters:

^UPDATE 1-U.S. Senate in lock down following Navy Yard shooting@
                 (New throughout)
WASHINGTON, Sept 16 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate and its adjacent office buildings on the Capitol grounds have been locked down following Monday's fatal shootings at the nearby Naval Yard, the Senate Sergeant at Arms announced.
Workers in the buildings cannot leave and nobody is being allowed to enter, according to a statement.
``We do not have any information to suggest the Senate, its members, or staff are in any danger, but out of an abundance of caution, we feel this is the best course of action to keep everyone safe,'' said Sergeant at Arms Terrance Gainer.
The Senate canceled its Monday session because of the NavyYard shooting. The House of Representatives, which is not in a work sessionon Monday, has not received any lock-down notice, according toofficials.
Gainer said the decision to lock down Senate buildings wasmade because of the ``possibility of suspects remaining at large.''
At least 12 people were killed in the shooting at the NavyYard, which is less than 2 miles (3.2 km) from the Capitolbuilding. One suspected gunman was among the dead and authorities were searching for two other possible assailantswearing military-style clothing, officials said.
