    Right or wrong, this is the impression you're projecting - you want your gun rights, but not any responsibility to preserve your gun rights.

      SCOTUS decisions, both 5-4, Roe and Heller that establish individual constitutional rights. I think it does help if people want to tax gun ownership, or have higher gun purchase taxes, or require expensive insurance or in any way use monetary disincentives to reduce access to guns that people just replace abortion for guns when reviewing their proposals and see if the constitutional rights of both seem reasonable with the added cost.

        He was saying if you want freedom of the press, then newspapers should be taxed. If you want pro-choice, then abortion clinics should be taxed.

        But, you may be right. I'll leave it to him to clarify.
