    has been tying and failing to do for around a decade now? Build a movement and the politicians will follow, that's how it's worked throughout the history of social movements. And direct action is an incredibly powerful tool, If we can mobilize enough people to vote in progressive democratic candidates then we can use those same resources to mobilize people for things like debt strikes and boycotts, etc.

      The GOP is imploding and people are still responding to the message of fairness. Remember, it takes time. It took the Republicans 30 years to build their Neoconservative movement. We ultimately need to make our arguments against the common wisdom of the day put into the ears and on the lips of the average individual. And between GOP insanity and new technological tools I think our 30 years are about over. These questions are ripe for asking.

      I think we can beat the odds and make 2014 a watershed year for Democrats. It is definitely possible, even with gerrymandering and lots of our Senate seats up for grabs. We have a couple possible new Senate seats in play which weren't just after election day.
