  •  Job creation is "off the table" (0+ / 0-)

because the Tea Party House has taken it off the table.

I remember 2010. A lot of people pretend they don't. I heard a LOT of people on this site saying Obama was a disappointment/failure, and there was no point in organizing, donating or canvassing and there was little point in voting but maybe they'd do so anyway.

Now we have an entrenched Republican majority in the House and local governments due to gerrymandering and it's going to be hard to get it out.

You can spend your time attacking Democrats for not doing what you feel is proper messaging. Obama can go on TV and say "I repudiate Privatization and Deregulation." That's fine.

But if you're not prepared to go and fight for Democrats, even if they aren't perfect, then you really shouldn't bother complaining because you're going to get more of the same.

When we stop putting leaders from the past up on pedestals and ignoring their flaws, we can start seeing our present leaders for what they really are.

    •  Obama has chosen to continue privatization (9+ / 0-)

and so called "free trade". Ignoring that and pretending like the GOP is the whole of the problem is being willfully ignorant of the facts. The Democrats are complicit in the race to the bottom.

    •  BETTER Democrats. (3+ / 0-)

BETTER. The lot we have now, at least the leadership, is not interested in us nearly as much as they are in the Conventional Wisdom: please the 1% and all goes well.

One really needs to make the distinction.

Messaging is NOT the issue: policy is. Not sure where the tricky bit is.

You want to win elections or not? Are you willing to improve the party, which is the only possible way to galvanize the voters, despite whatever personality loyalties one might have?

Actual Democrats: the surest, quickest, route to More Democrats. And actually addressing our various emergencies.
