    the cables until they decide it is not worth the expense and give up.  Of course, if they put their own subs down there to try to find out what is going on then of course they will just happen to have a few "accidents".

      Don't have a link handy, but I can recall at least on case of a cut cable that appeared to be sabotage. Some other have gotten damaged in accidents like earthquakes, like the one between China and Taiwan.  

      One cable is huge bandwidth.

        cables with each cable cut in a dozen different places or so. You know, in a "well you won't let us sniff your traffic, then you won't have any traffic"  Possibly even causing a few "accidents" among the repair crews as well.
