    For the same reason I no longer sign up for retail cards.  Once a good idea that drew me in is now a flood that I ignore.  i suggest organizations to cool it.  Look for other sources and give us a break. It is not that I don't support your cause it is that I don't want to take the time to read your long email and can't give to everyone.  I think the golden goose has been cooked in this respect.  I think a new model needs to be created.  Good luck.  I give but to a select and limited number.

      I like the way Kickstarter lets me fund a specific project, which has a timeline, and my money is returned if the project doesn't get enough to get off the ground within a deadline. I see the future of fundraising being more targeted so that I can see exactly what I'm getting for my dollar. (I think that's why Heifer , Intl. is so popular too - it's something you can get your head around easily.)

      I find myself sometimes clicking on a promising email, and then scrolling down to the bottom. If I see the "Donate $3" or whatever link, I close and delete.
