Starbucks still has an unlimited coffee/tea refill for customers with registered cards, no? Obviously, this doesn't mean that you should get 12 free refills per visit, even though technically you're entitled to it. Let alone getting a free refill on a cup you bought yesterday or earlier today at a different Starbucks, or the same Starbucks after you left for half the day. But isn't it understood that 1-2, maybe 3 refills, is ok, especially if you tip and maybe buy some food?

Ironically, I sometimes get charged the refill price for my first coffee of the day (and thus nothing at all since I have a registered card), despite specifically telling them that it's my first coffee of the day. Either they like me, or they feel sorry for me since I'm there so often! :-) (Or, I've long suspected, it's done on purpose to get me to tip large--although when it happened to me yesterday, there was no tip jar as they don't allow tips at that particular Starbucks!)
