    I had looked through the Tampa Bay database of cases some time ago. Off the top of my head I can't recall specific examples.

    Here's the link (it's in the diary too).

    On the right side you can search on any parameter or you can just walk through each case. They list answers to these 8 questions for each case.

    1. Did the victim initiate the confrontation?
    2. Was the victim armed?
    3. Was the victim committing a crime that led to the confrontation?
    4. Did the defendant pursue the victim?
    5. Could the defendant have retreated to avoid the conflict?
    6. Was the defendant on his or her property?
    7. Did someone witness the attack?
    8. Was there physical evidence?
