    in the new Harper's that that's why the Administration is pushing for more STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) in higher ed to the detriment of the humanities.  Not so that we can be "competitive" on the global market -- we already generate more than enough STEM graduates -- but in order to drive down salaries in STEM professions by glutting the market even further.
