That's not the Golden Calf prop from Cecil B. Demille's the Ten Commandments.  (And I love how it must always be called Cecil B. Demille's Ten Commandments.)  That's the Merrill Lynch bull in front of the old Merrill Lynch building.

Since Merrill Lynch went belly up, I wonder what happened to the bull statue.  Maybe it was sold to be a prop in front of a steakhouse somewhere.

There have been satires with the same photo and various captions, like: "XIANS UR DOIN IT ALL WRONG."

More pics at original article on Wonkette, titled Jesus People Pray That False Idol Will Save God’s Economy.  I liked the one where somebody was blowing a shofar for the bull.  Hey, why not?

Barthnotes quotes the pastor who led the group prayer and laying on of hands on the Golden Calf Merrill Lynch bull:

The Lord said: “October 29 was Black Tuesday, the day the stock market crashed, and Satan wants to do it again!”—the economy will crash without effective, fervent intercession.
Tells you everything you need to know about fundamentalists and their "literal" interpretation of the Bible.
