    Fiona, thank you for articulating so well the need to strengthen tribal sovereignty and refuse to allow imposed poverty to become an excuse for dissolving Native communities...

      Chase Iron Eyes participating on DKos.  I'm sure that this site will frustrate the hell out of you at times.  Such a large, loosely organized, diverse site is  bound to be somewhat erratic and temperamental, especially since liberals seem to be pretty emotional by nature.  So you may get great responses one day, and the next day, everyone is off staring obsessively at some bright shiny object that may seem, well, a bit silly.

      Nonetheless, there are people here who genuinely care about equal rights for all people, about cultural survival for Indian peoples, and about taking one more step, as President Obama likes to say, toward a more perfect union.

      So be patient with us, and some of us at least will learn, share, and do what we can.
