You don't have to pay Chase to talk to him. Certainly not at facebook. And certainly not here.

This thread is for conversation with Chase and YOU'RE not off to a good start.

    •  Well Neeta, I guess I suck through a big straw (0+ / 0-)

I only know what I found when I went to "follow" Chase on Facebook.  If I am wrong, I apologize.

      •  You are forgiven :) (1+ / 0-)

Wobbegon Snark, we regret to hear about your health concerns, and please don't worry about the error. It is clear that some mistake was made, because Chase charges nothing to communicate with him on any of his platforms, including FB. Thank you for being interested in reaching out...and by all means, if you want to ask Chase a question that relates to the work he is doing, fire away.

      •  You found no such thing. (2+ / 0-)

And your opening comment seems malicious now.

        •  Chase Iron Eyes (0+ / 0-)

Let's try this again.  I just went to "Chase Iron Eyes" site on FB.  I am currently a "follower".  In order to send a message directly to his "inbox", I must contribute $1 USD.

You are a follower of his, not a friend. It appears that on Facebook when you send a message to someone you follow, it goes into their "Other" box and not their "Inbox." According to this Facebook Help article, to route it directly to their inbox there may be a fee.

So you do NOT have to pay to message him. In essence, you'd be paying for "Priority Mail". I checked the several dozen people I follow on FB; over half of them have the same message when I go to send them something.

...not an option.  And you don't have to lecture me on "priority mail".  I worked for the USPS for 18 years before I left.  A dear coworker died from a stress related illness.  It's the reason I left in 2000.

I wasn't lecturing on Priority Mail, the USPS, or any other issue. I was trying in a neutral way to explain why you were seeing the issue you did. That you chose to see a fact-based answer as a "lecture" speaks volumes.

Friending him is an option for me. I've chosen not to because I don't know him personally, but the option is there.

I hope my relating personal experience doesn't come off as another "lecture".

I think the pure purpose of this poster was to derail the diary and talk about Chase asking for money. He's clearly fundraising for LPLP, which is doing important work.

Her opening comment was inappropriate and I think she knew it. I appreciate your sleuthing out facebook's surcharge and showing that it was not Chase.
