Those who are hot to trot for attacking Syria forget there's a Russian naval base at Latakia, one of the more logical regions for the al-Nusra Missile Corps to strike.  Suppose we issue the standard "shocknawe" missile attack on Syria, and this time some of the "good ol' collateral damage" is a Russian military building, or warship?  Is that what the suddenly superhawk Democratic Party actually wants?  To "prove its manhood" by engaging in provocation with the Russians?  Counting on them rolling over for US power instead of standing up for their own dead?  Not a bet I'd want to make.  But then, who am I?  Just a former NSA Russian linguist, I wouldn't understand anything about the way they think.  Trust a "pragmatic centrist" party operative more on such questions, of course.  We're all Americans here!  Democrats, booyah!  (Isn't one Booyah Party already more than enough?)

Chinese embassy in Belgrade once -- and under a nominally Democratic president to boot -- and the Chinese didn't fight back.   And all our enemies are alike, right?
