    Sounds like a typically British lie.

    In fact, the 1920 Treaty of Sevres specified a Kurdistan, to be defined by a plebicite among the Kurds. It wasn't ratified, and the version that was ratified was superceded quickly by another after the Turkish Independence War required new treaties.

    But the idea that the British conveniently didn't notice the many millions of ethnically consistent people in a longstanding culture right where they were carving up oil franchises, all fully documented by the Ottoman and German empires they'd conquered for that purpose, is a very British and absurd one.
